Mobile-First Diagnostics with FootPlus at the Core

Future Sense is an MVP mobile app designed for doctors and hospitals to manage patient diagnostics—centered around FootPlus, an in-house solution that enables Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) detection in ~8 minutes.

KEY INSIGHT

01 — THE PROBLEM

Unstructured Diagnostics & Poor Visibility in Clinical Workflows

The Problem:
Doctors and hospitals lacked a mobile-first system to manage patients and conduct diagnostics efficiently. Critical workflows like PAD testing, patient data access, and reporting were not structured—leading to delays and inconsistencies during consultations.

The Goal

Design a mobile-first, role-based platform that prioritizes FootPlus, structures diagnostic workflows, and enables fast, reliable patient management.

Key Observation

  • No unified system for patients, diagnostics, and reports

  • Core product (FootPlus) was not clearly prioritized in workflows

  • Patient data and vitals were not instantly accessible

  • Diagnostic steps lacked guided, consistent execution

  • Multiple user types required role-based access and clarity

02 — Discovery & Problem Framing

Prioritizing Core Diagnostics in a Mobile Context

Stakeholder discussions (MD team and doctors) highlighted that the platform needed to center around FootPlus while supporting end-to-end patient workflows.

Direction & Constraints

Stakeholders set a clear expectation:

  • Mobile-first usage in real clinical environments

  • Multiple users: doctors, hospitals, partners

  • Need for quick PAD diagnostics (~8 minutes)

  • Must support patient management + testing + reporting

  • MVP required to be simple, scalable, and easy to adopt

This reframed the challenge from managing scattered clinical tasks to designing a FootPlus-first, structured mobile diagnostic experience.

Signals & Insights

  • FootPlus needed clear prioritization as the core value driver

  • Diagnostic workflows required step-by-step guidance for consistency

  • Patient data had to be instantly accessible during consultations

  • Complex processes needed simplification for mobile usage

Shift from supporting multiple features equally → to prioritizing FootPlus within a simplified, guided mobile experience.

Hypothesis & Opportunity

Based on available inputs, key hypotheses emerged:

  • Prioritizing FootPlus would increase adoption and usage

  • Guided flows would improve diagnostic accuracy and consistency

  • Centralized data would enable faster, more confident decisions

This revealed a clear opportunity:

Shift from fragmented, feature-led interactions → to a FootPlus-first, structured diagnostic workflow.

The app was designed to prioritize FootPlus as the primary action, supported by structured flows for patient management and diagnostics.

 

Low-fidelity wireframes were validated with stakeholders, followed by high-fidelity mobile designs and prototyping.

As an MVP, validation was conducted with MD, stakeholders and a panel of doctors acting as primary users.

Stakeholder and doctor validation confirmed the solution is practical, aligned with real clinical workflows, and ready for implementation. The MVP establishes a strong foundation to scale FootPlus, with real-world user testing planned in future iterations.
